What backs the token?

Cash and short-dated equivalents held one-to-one with licensed custodians. An independent firm publishes an attestation every month naming what is held and where.

Where does the yield come from?

From the reserve itself. Your balance is not lent to a counterparty, which is why redemption does not depend on anyone repaying first.

Is there a lock-up or notice period?

No. Redemption is on demand and settles at par to the account you funded from.
