How a monthly reserve attestation works
By AKAVI Team1 min read

What an independent attestation checks, what it does not, and how to read one in five minutes.
Every month an independent firm compares what is held in reserve against what has been issued.
What gets checked
- The balance held with each custodian on the attestation date
- The total number of tokens in circulation on the same date
- That the first is at least as large as the second
What it does not cover
An attestation is a point-in-time check, not a full audit of controls. That is why we publish one every month and keep the reports in one place.
How to read one
Start with the date, then compare the two totals. If reserves are equal to or greater than tokens issued, every token is backed one-to-one.
